Stuff I've found that looks cool but I haven't investigated fully:
Inspiration to Perspiration ONLINE - this is a web site run by a guy who wrote a book applying TNT priciples to other parts of your life. I know there are some really inspiring stories at this website.
Excellent Resources
2002 the Odyssey Runs In You Webpage that challenges you to run or walk 2002K or 2002 miles in 2002. I'm in the wimp category of just 500 miles a year.
Upcoming Races/Events
Team In Training / Leukemia Sites
Team in Training They told me that it was the experience of a lifetime, and they were right! Check it out!
Eastern Pennsylvania Light the Night Walk Information about a fundraising event in September that will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Participants carry illuminated balloons in an evening walk on Kelly Drive. Sign up today!
Diary of a Leukemia Patient: Erin Zammett
Erin Zammett is a 23 year old woman who recently was diagnosed with CML (chronic myelogenous leukemia). Erin works for Glamour magazine and has been to record a diary of her experiences. I started reading her story before I signed up with TNT and I'm even more interested now that I'm involved myself.
Bermuda Marathon Links
Bermuda Walking Marathon This is a website put up by Team Diabetes that gives some information about the marathon. Team Diabetes is a program similar to Team In Training.
Bermuda Diary This is a diary of one woman's experience at Bermuda last year. Her team has lots of misadventures and it's pretty entertaining.
Course Map, Profile, and Description Here is a better and more detailed look at the marathon course. This page was designed for the running marathon in December but the course is the same as the walking marathon that I'm doing.
Marathon 101 -- this is a journal about a woman near Boston who walked her first marathon in Anchorage last year and is now training for Bermuda in January. Updated in January 2003 with a full report from the Bermuda Marathon. |
